Another legend lost

Actor and comedian, Mickey Rooney, has passed away, he was 93.

Demolition continues.

The old IGA building (formally Carsons Grocery) has been completely gutted now and demolition started on the Landmark sign that graced the Merkel skyline for many years.  All of this construction is for the new health clinic moving to Merkel which will provide new jobs and much needed revenue for the city.  The health clinic was made possible with help from the Merkel EDC, a non-profit that is here to see Merkel grow.  I only wished they would have cut the sign down and donated it to the Museum, but I'm just a history kind of guy!
